  • New York Yankees closer, Aroldis Chapman, retires Houston Astros outfielder, George Springer, for the final out in the top of the 9th inning preserving a 4-1 victory for the Yankees. The Yankees now travel to Houston trailing 3-2 games.

    All of the action occurred in the first inning when the Astros scored 1 run on a pass ball and wild pitch and the Yankees scored 4 runs on two home runs, one of which was a 3run shot by Aaron Hicks.

  • Houston Astros starting pitcher, Justin Verlander, gives up a pair of first-inning home runs for the first time in 28 post season starts and four runs in an inning for the first time since joining the Astros in August 2017. VERLANDER went on to pitch 7 innings  allowing 5 hits and 9 strike outs walking none but taking the 4-1 loss.

  • New York Yankees first baseman, DJ LeMAHIEU, homers off of Minnesota Twins reliever, Cody Stashak, in the bottom of the 6th inning. DJ LeMahieu had a single, double, and home run, drivng in 4 runs and leading the Yankees to a 10-4 victory in game 1 of ALDS.

    Take a look at our 6 selected images from game 1 of the ALDS, won by the Yankees 10-4. The hitting star of the game was DJ Le MAHIEU, who drove in 4 runs with a single, double, and home run (his first post season home run).

    While JAMES PAXTON pitched only 4 2/3 innings and did not get the win, he pitched well, allowing only 3 runs and striking out 8. I included a nice shot of his as well. The final image that I sent you captured the Minnesota Twins GORGE POLANCO celebrating his  home run in the first inning and giving the Twins an early lead.

    Historically, the Yankees have dominated the Twins in playoff games. If this game is any indication, their mastery of the Twins will likely continue.

    The hitting stars for the Mets were catcher, WILSON RAMOS, who went 4 for 5; third baseman TODD FRAZIER, who went 3 for 4; and MICHAEL CONFORTO, who went 2 for 4. I sent you images from all three of these players.

    For the Phillies, the hitting star was BRYCE HARPER, who went 2 for 4, hitting his 29th home run and driving in 2 runs in a losing effort. I sent you a particularly good shot of HARPER, celebrating his home run in the bottom of the 6th inning.
