  • New York Yankees AARON HICKS celebrates hitting a three-run home run in the first inning off of Houston Astros’ starting pitcher, Justin Verlander, giving the Yankees a 4-1 lead at the end of the first inning. The Yankees went on to win game 5 of the ALCS 4-1 and now travel to Houston trailing 3-2 games.

Take a look at our 6 selected images from last night’s game 5 of the ALCS, won by the Yankees 4-1.

All of the action occurred in the first inning when the Astros scored 1 run on a pass ball and wild pitch and the Yankees scored 4 runs on two home runs, one of which was a 3run shot by Aaron Hicks.

James Paxton pitched  a great game.

  • New York Yankees lead-off hitter AARON HICKS celberates hitting his first of three home runs in the second inning off of Boston Red Sox starting pitcher David Price giving the Yankees an 6-0 lead. The Yankees went on to route the Boston Red Sox 11-1.

Uploaded here are 7 selected images from tonight’s Red Sox/Yankees game from Yankee Stadium. I think you will like them and hopefully be able to use one or two of them—-they are particularly strong.
New York Yankees starting pitcher, LUIS SEVERINO, became the first 13 game winner in the majors, pitching 6 2/3rd innings of shutout ball, allowing only 2 hits, striking out 6 and walking 3. Severino was supported by 6 home runs, of which three were hit by leadoff batter, AARON HICKS.
GLYBER TORRES hit another three-run home run and he now leads the major leagues with 6 three-run home runs.

Finally, Yankees third string catcher, KYLE HIGASHIOKA, who had gone 0 for 22 in the major leagues, got his first hit, a home run into the second deck in left field.
It was a great night for the Yankees, not so much for the Red Sox. But, it is a long season and the Red Sox rivalry will continue all year long. The Yankees play the final three games of the season at Fenway Park.

  • With the score tied 2-2 in the bottom of the 7th inning, New York Yankees outfielder AARON HICKS hits a tie breaking home run off of Boston Red Sox starter, Rick Porcello, giving the Yankees a 3-2 lead.  Acquired from Minnesota in the off season, HICKS  was hitting .088 with no extra base hits and 2 RBIs in only 34 plate appearances.

Some wild things happened at the Red Sox Yankees game. One can never predict what will happen at these games. Questioning the umpires plate calls in the 9th innning, both Farrell and Ortiz were ejected from the game.
