  • Toronto Blue Jays short stop, Freddy Galvis, hits a critical double in the 9th inning off of Red Sox closer Matt Barnes driving in Toronto’s 7th run. The Blue Jays went on to defeat the Boston Red Sox 7-5 in Boston’s home opener.

Check out these 10 selected images from today’s Boston Home opener against the Toronto Blue Jays, won by the Blue Jays 7-5.  Toronto’s starting pitcher, MATT SHOEMAKER, had another strong performance, allowing only 3runs and 5 hits over 5 2/3rd innings. He is now 3-0.

Unfortunately for the Red Sox, their ACE, CHRIS SALE, had another poor performance, allowing 5 runs, 7 hits over 4 innings and he is now 0-3. I sent you two very nice shots of these pitchers.

In the top of ninth inning, Blue Jays short stop FREDDY GALVIS hit an RBI double, giving the Blue Jays a 7-5 lead that they never relinquished.

I also am sending you images of key hits by MITCH MORELAND, XANDER BOGAERTS, AND MOOKIE BETTS.  The final two images are of Blue Jays closer, K GILES  striking out Mookie Betts to end the game.

I think it will be a long season for the Sox.

  • Philadelphia Phillies infielder, Freddy Galvis, hits a two-run home run off of Washington Nationals relief pitcher Blake Treinen in the bottom of the ninth inning bringing the Philliles to within only one run of the Nationals. Unfortunately, the Phillies could not muster another run and lost their home opener to the Washington Nationals 7-6.

Washington Nationals defeat Philadelphia Phillies 7-6 in Phillies home opener.

These 10 selected images from the Philadelphia Phillies home opener won by the Washington Nationals 7-6.  The Nationals jumped off to an early 7-0 lead on the strength of strong pitching by Max Scherzer, last year’s National League Cy Young winner and power hitting by Bryce Harper, Daniel Murphy, and Jason Werth, each of whom hit home runs.  The Phillies fought valiantly, and in the 9th inning came within one run of tying the game, based on a two run home run by Freddy Galvis.
