  • New York Yankees outfielder, BRETT GARDNER, homers in the bottom of the 7th inning off of Twins relief pitcher, CODY STASHAK, giving the Yankees a 7-4 lead. The Yankees went on to win 10-4 in game 1 of the ALDS.

Take a look at our 6 selected images from game 1 of the ALDS, won by the Yankees 10-4. The hitting star of the game was DJ Le MAHIEU, who drove in 4 runs with a single, double, and home run (his first post season home run).

We uploaded images of his home run and a three- run double. I have  also uploaded two great images of BRETT GARDNER, who was hit by a pitch and also homered.

While JAMES PAXTON pitched only 4 2/3 innings and did not get the win, he pitched well, allowing only 3 runs and striking out 8. I included a nice shot of his as well. The final image that I sent you captured the Minnesota Twins GORGE POLANCO celebrating his  home run in the first inning and giving the Twins an early lead.

Historically, the Yankees have dominated the Twins in playoff games. If this game is any indication, their mastery of the Twins will likely continue.

  • The Great MARIANO RIVERA pitches again in the 73rd Annual Old-Timers Day. In addition to hitting an inside the park home run and making a catch in center field, he closed out the fourth-inning exhibition by retiring Luis Soho via a ground out.

Take a look at these four selected images from today’s Houston Astro’s vs New York Yankees game from Yankee Stadium, won by the Astros 9-4.

The Yankees held their 73rd Annual Old-Timers Day celebration and the “great” Mariano Rivera stole the show, hitting an inside the park home run, catching a fly ball in center field, and closing out the fourth inning exhibition by retiring Luis Sojo. There is also a nice shot of Mariano pitching again at Yankee Stadium.

The pitching star of the real game was Justin Verlander(10-3), who became the third 10-game winner in the AL, allowing 3 runs and 4 hits over 7 Innings, striking out 9 and walking only 2.  I captured a very nice image of Verlander throwing a strike to DJ LeMahieu.

Two of the hitting stars for the Astros were first baseman Tyler White, who hit his first grand slam home run in the fourth inning, and designated hitter

Yordan Alvarez, who hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning, tying a big league record with his 7th home run in 12 games to begin his career. I got two very good shots of White and Alvarez.

Despite their loss today, the Yankees look like a potential World Series Champion again

  • New York Yankees starting pitcher, LUIS SEVERINO, throws a home run pitch to the first batter of the game, Amed Rosario. SEVERINO lasted only 4 innings, allowing 7 hits, including home runs by Rosario and Jose Bautista, and four runs. The Mets went on to win 8-5.

Check out these 5 selected images from tonight’s New York Mets vs. New York Yankees game from Yankee Stadium, won by the Mets 8-5.
What promised to be a great pitching duel between two of the best pitchers in the Major Leagues, JACOB de GROM(for the Mets), and LUIS SEVERINO(for the Yankees),
Turned into a one-sided game as de GROM totally outpitched his cross town competitor LUIS SEVERINO. Supported with 5 home runs, de GROM allowed only two earned runs while striking out 12 over 6 2/3 innings while SEVERINO lasted only 4 innings, allowing 7 hits and 4 runs. Over his last 7 outings, SEVERINO has pitched poorly and may be a problem of the Yankees as they try to keep pace with the Red Sox. For the Mets, given their disastrous season, there is only one prize left in play— the NL CY YOUNG AWARD for their ace, JACOB de GROM.

  • New York Yankees starting pitcher LUIS SEVERINO walks off the field to a standing ovation from the crowd tipping his hat after pitching 6 2/3 innings of shut out ball against the Boston Red Sox allowing only 2 hits, striking out 6 and walking only three and becoming the first 13 game winning in the Majors. SEVERINO(13-2) improved to 8-0 at home, leading the Yankees to a 11-1 route of the Red Sox.

Uploaded here are 7 selected images from tonight’s Red Sox/Yankees game from Yankee Stadium. I think you will like them and hopefully be able to use one or two of them—-they are particularly strong.
New York Yankees starting pitcher, LUIS SEVERINO, became the first 13 game winner in the majors, pitching 6 2/3rd innings of shutout ball, allowing only 2 hits, striking out 6 and walking 3. Severino was supported by 6 home runs, of which three were hit by leadoff batter, AARON HICKS.
GLYBER TORRES hit another three-run home run and he now leads the major leagues with 6 three-run home runs.

Finally, Yankees third string catcher, KYLE HIGASHIOKA, who had gone 0 for 22 in the major leagues, got his first hit, a home run into the second deck in left field.
It was a great night for the Yankees, not so much for the Red Sox. But, it is a long season and the Red Sox rivalry will continue all year long. The Yankees play the final three games of the season at Fenway Park.
