  • New York Yankees right fielder, AARON JUDGE, hits his 22nd home run in the first inning off of Boston Red Sox starting pitcher, David price, giving the Yankees an early 1-0 lead. The Yankees went on to power 6 home runs leading to a 11-1 route of the Boston Red Sox.

    New York Yankees starting pitcher, LUIS SEVERINO, became the first 13 game winner in the majors, pitching 6 2/3rd innings of shutout ball, allowing only 2 hits, striking out 6 and walking 3. Severino was supported by 6 home runs, of which three were hit by leadoff batter, AARON HICKS.
    GLYBER TORRES hit another three-run home run and he now leads the major leagues with 6 three-run home runs.

    Finally, Yankees third string catcher, KYLE HIGASHIOKA, who had gone 0 for 22 in the major leagues, got his first hit, a home run into the second deck in left field.
    It was a great night for the Yankees, not so much for the Red Sox. But, it is a long season and the Red Sox rivalry will continue all year long. The Yankees play the final three games of the season at Fenway Park.

The game was won in the first inning when AARON JUDGE and MIGUEL ANDUJAR both hit two-run home runs to give the Yankees a 4-0 lead. The Yankees now have a 50-22 record, the best in the Major Leagues. Having swept the Mariners in the three game series, the Yankees have now won 4 in a row and 17 of their last 21 games. AROLDIS CHAPMAN earned the save, his 22nd out of 23 attempts. The four images that are attached capture the highlights of the game. There is absolutely no question that the Yankees look like a World Series Champion. We will see.

Boston’s starting pitcher, RICK PORCELLO, threw a gem of a game, pitching a no-hitter for 6 innings, and allowing only 2 hits, no runs, no walks, while striking out 6 for seven innings.
    Boston had a scare in the first inning when HANLEY RAMIREZ was hit on the wrist by a pitch thrown by the Yankee’s starting pitcher Sonny Gray and RAMIREZ had to leave the game. Fortunately, XRAYS subsequently showed that RAMIREZ suffered a contusion but no broken bones.
    The Red Sox went on to win 6-3, taking the first 2 out 3 games in the series.
