Boston’s starting pitcher, RICK PORCELLO, threw a gem of a game, pitching a no-hitter for 6 innings, and allowing only 2 hits, no runs, no walks, while striking out 6 for seven innings.
Boston had a scare in the first inning when HANLEY RAMIREZ was hit on the wrist by a pitch thrown by the Yankee’s starting pitcher Sonny Gray and RAMIREZ had to leave the game. Fortunately, XRAYS subsequently showed that RAMIREZ suffered a contusion but no broken bones.
