Astros Justin Verlander gives up a pair of first-inning home runs

Houston Astros starting pitcher, Justin Verlander, gives up a pair of first-inning home runs for the first time in 28 post season starts and four runs in an inning for the first time since joining the Astros in August 2017. VERLANDER went on to pitch 7 innings  allowing 5 hits and 9 strike outs walking none but taking the 4-1 loss.

All of the action occurred in the first inning when the Astros scored 1 run on a pass ball and wild pitch and the Yankees scored 4 runs on two home runs, one of which was a 3run shot by Aaron Hicks.
