Description
New York Yankees shotstop, DIDI GREGORIUS, hits his first home run of the game in the third inning against Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Chris Archer. GREGORIUS went 4 for 4 driving in 8 runs and leading the Yankees to a 11-4 home opening victory.
Derek Jeter, who was he? Starting his fourth season as Derek Jeter’s successor, DIDI GREGORIUS, had a spectacular home opener. GREGORIUS went 4 for 4, with two three-run home runs, driving in 8 runs, setting a major league record for RBIs by a player in a home opener AND setting a Yankee record for RBIs by a shortstop. On the opposite side of the ledger, recently acquired slugger, GIANCARLO STANTON, struck out 5 times his first five-times strike out game of his career. Dispite his dismal start, the Yankees defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 11-4 in their home opener.
Joanie and I are now off to Boston for their home opener against the same Tampa Bay Rays.
Attached are four images that I sent on to SI, AP, and Zuma Press. Look for us in the front row on Thursday night.
