  • Chicago Cubs reliever, AROLDIS CHAPMAN , throws a strike to Mike Napoli, in the ninth inning of game three of the World Series. While Chapman retired the side with no hits or runs, the Cubs lost game three of the World Series 1-0.

Uploaded are 10 of my best images from tonight’s Game 3 of the World Series at Wrigley Field. Just being here for this historic game was thrilling. Harry Caray was right—“As sure as God created green apples, someday the Cubs are going to be in the World Series”… and they are. I am planning to go to game 6 and 7, if they take place.

  • Chicago Cubs manager, JOE MADDON, talks to the press prior to the game at citiFIELD after losing the first 3 games of the 4 game series . The Mets went on to win the fourth game of the series 14-3, the first time that the Mets swept a four game series from the Cubs during the regular season since 1985.

I have uploaded seven selected images from today’s New York Mets vs. Chicago Cubs game at citiFIELD won by the Mets 14-3. Today’s game illustrates why it is impossible to predict the outcomes of baseball games. Prior to the four game series, the Cubs had the best record in baseball, while The Mets had been losing on a regular basis, unable to score runs. John Lester had the second best ERA in the major leagues and was THE PITCHER OF THE MONTH in June. Today John Lester lasted 1 1/3 innings giving up 8 runs and 9 hits, his shortest outing in 301 career starts. The Mets swept the Cubs in the four game series, the first time the Mets swept a 4 game series from the Cubs during the regular season since 1985. During this game, Wilmer Flores, who had been batting .244, went 6 for 6, only the second Mets player in history to achieve this feat. (Edgardo Alfonzo did in August 1999 in Houston)
It just goes to show you that in baseball you just never know what will happen.
These two events, coupled with strong pitching performance of Dodgers’ starting pitcher, Kenta Maeda, spelled victory for the Dodgers.

  • Chicago Cubs starting pitcher, JOHN LESTER, wipes his face in disgust in the second inning against the New York Mets. LESTER gave up eight runs and nine hits in 1 1/3 innings, the shortest of his 301 career starts over 11 major league seasons. He entered the game with a 2.03 ERA that ranked second in the majors and was the The Pitcher Of the Month in June. The Mets went on to win 14-3, sweeping the Cubs in the 4 game series, the first time during the regular season since 1985.
