  • New York Mets manager, TERRY COLLINS, gets ejected from the game by home plate umpire ADAM HAMARI in the third inning after COLLINS argued with HAMARI for throwing Mets starting pitcher, Noah Syndergaard , out of the game for intentionally throwing a pitch behind Chase Utley. The Mets went on to lose 9-1 to the L. A. DODGERS.

    Uploaded are 7 selected images from tonight’s Dodgers/Mets game at citiFIELD, won by the Dodgers 9-1. The game was driven by two major events: First, the ejection of Mets’ starting pitcher, Noah Syndergaard, for allegedly throwing a pitch behind Chase Utley on purpose, followed by the arguing and subsequent ejection of the New York Mets manager, Terry Collins. And secondly, the hitting barrage of Chase Utley, who hit two home runs, the second of which was a grand slam in the 7th inning.
    These two events, coupled with strong pitching performance of Dodgers’ starting pitcher, Kenta Maeda, spelled victory for the Dodgers.

    In a game that was billed as a classic pitching duel between two of the National League’s finest pitchers, Matt Harvey of the Mets, and Stephen Strasburg of the Nationals turned into a route, with the Washington Nationals defeating the New York Mets 9-1.  Stephen Strasburg gave one of his BEST performances of the year while Matt Harvey turned in his WORST.

    Strasburg pitched for 6 inning, allowing only 6 hits and 1 run, while striking out 10.  Matt Harvey, on the other hand, pitched for only 2 2/3 innings, allowing 9 runs(7 of them earned)  on 8 hits, striking out 1.

  • Washington Nationals Ben Revere – Center fielder who recently came off of the disabled list is batting  only .094 with 0 home runs and only 1RBI.  In the third inning, when the Nationals scored 7 runs,  Ben Revere drove in a  run with a sharp single to left.   • Ninth Inning Dramatics. After taking a called third strike with bases loaded in the ninth inning and subsequently ejected from the game, Boston Red Sox DAVID ORTIZ went wild and stormed on to the field threatening home plate umpire RON KULPA while his teammates attempted to restrain him. The Yankees went on to win 3-2.

  • With bases loaded in the ninth inning, and the Boston Red Sox trailing the New York Yankees 3-2 , DAVID ORTIZ(BIG PAPI) takes a called third strike from New York Yankees reliever ANDREW MILLER. ORTIZ went to the dugout and slammed down his equipment and was ejected. ORTIZ then stormed back to the plate and had to be restrained by his teammates. The Yankees went on to win 3-2.

  • Boston Red Sox DAVID ORTIZ(BIG PAPI) and XANDER BOGAERTS celebrate after ORTIZ hit his 452nd home run  of his 510 home runs for Boston, tied with Carl Yastrezemski for second among Red Sox and behind Ted Williams(521). the Yankees went on to win 3-2.

  • Boston Red Sox first baseman, HANLEY RAMIREZ, strikes out in the ninth inning with bases loaded to end the game on a  pitech thrown by Yankee reliever Andrew Miller. The Yankees won 3-2.

  • With the score tied 2-2 in the bottom of the 7th inning, New York Yankees outfielder AARON HICKS hits a tie breaking home run off of Boston Red Sox starter, Rick Porcello, giving the Yankees a 3-2 lead.  Acquired from Minnesota in the off season, HICKS  was hitting .088 with no extra base hits and 2 RBIs in only 34 plate appearances.

  • New York Mets starting pitcher, STEVEN MATZ, throws a strike to San Francisco Giants third baseman Matt Duffy in the top of the 5th inning. MATZ pitched shutout ball for 6 innings, allowing 7 hits, striking out 4, and allowing 3 walks.The Mets went on  to win 13-1.

    This collection of the 9 selected images from tonight’s New York Mets victory over the San Francisco Giants are mainly from the third inning.  The Mets scored 12 runs in the third inning, a franchise record. The first 8 images capture the 12 runs that were scored and the last image is of Steven Matz, who pitched shutout ball for his 6 innings.  If the Mets can continue hitting, coupled with their strong pitching, they may repeat as a World Series team.
