Boston Red Sox first baseman, Hanley Ramirez, grimaces in pain after being stuck by a pitch in the first inning thrown by New York Yankees starting pitcher, Sonny Gray. RAMIREZ had to leave the game, but xrays subsequently showed a contusion but no break in his wrist. The Red Sox went on to defeat the Yankees 6-3.

Boston’s starting pitcher, RICK PORCELLO, threw a gem of a game, pitching a no-hitter for 6 innings, and allowing only 2 hits, no runs, no walks, while striking out 6 for seven innings.
Boston had a scare in the first inning when HANLEY RAMIREZ was hit on the wrist by a pitch thrown by the Yankee’s starting pitcher Sonny Gray and RAMIREZ had to leave the game. Fortunately, XRAYS subsequently showed that RAMIREZ suffered a contusion but no broken bones.
The Red Sox went on to win 6-3, taking the first 2 out 3 games in the series.
