Boston Red Sox starting pitcher, RICK PORCELLO, exits the game after allowing a tie-breaking two-run home run to GARY SANCHEZ in the fifth inning. PORCELLO(4 -5) left the game after allowing 5 runs in 4 2/3 inning. This was PORCELLO’S first time facing the Yankees since his series clinching victory at Yankee Stadium in game 4 of last year’s AL Division series.

Joe Torre was honored prior to the game as part of  the pregame festivities recognizing Prostate Cancer month.

Gary Sanchez hit his game tie-breaking 18th home run putting the Yankees ahead for good and Aroldis Chapman preserved the victory, his 17th save in 18 tries.

ON the Red Sox side of the ledger, Xander Bogaerts went 3 for 3, with a game tying two-run home run in the top of the fourth inning.
