The game was highlighted by strong starting pitching by MASAHIRO TANAKA, who pitched 6 1/3 innings allowing 5 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 5. DELLIN BETANCES and AROLDIS CHAPMAN pitched the 8th and 9th innings without giving up a run. The two hitting stars were STARLIN CASTRO and AUSTIN ROMINE each of whom homered.
