New York Yankees starting pitcher LUIS SEVERINO walks off the field to a standing ovation from the crowd tipping his hat after pitching 6 2/3 innings of shut out ball against the Boston Red Sox allowing only 2 hits, striking out 6 and walking only three and becoming the first 13 game winning in the Majors. SEVERINO(13-2) improved to 8-0 at home, leading the Yankees to a 11-1 route of the Red Sox.

GLYBER TORRES hit another three-run home run and he now leads the major leagues with 6 three-run home runs.
Finally, Yankees third string catcher, KYLE HIGASHIOKA, who had gone 0 for 22 in the major leagues, got his first hit, a home run into the second deck in left field.
It was a great night for the Yankees, not so much for the Red Sox. But, it is a long season and the Red Sox rivalry will continue all year long. The Yankees play the final three games of the season at Fenway Park.
