The game played June 2nd 2016 pitted the Boston Red Sox against the Baltimore Orioles played at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Despite the efforts of David Ortiz, Big Papi, who hit his 16th home run of the year driving in his league leading 51st run, the Baltimore Orioles, on the strength of 7 home runs, defeated the Boston Red Sox 12-7. Two critical plays of the game were first, Red Sox first baseman, Hanley Ramirez being tagged out by Orioles shortstop Manny MACHADO in the top of the 6th inning attempting to steal second base and ending a big rally by the Red Sox; And Second, a three-run home run by Manny Machado in the bottom of the 7th inning , breaking a 5-5 tie game.
Despite this painful loss, the Red Sox leave Baltimore with the same lead that came in with(splitting the four games 2-2) — a one game lead over the Orioles in the East Division of the American League. It looks like this year will be an exciting battle between these two high powered offensive teams.
