  • New York Yankees shortstop, DIDI GREGORIUS, gets a high five from Brett Gardner, after hitting his second home run of the game in the seventh inning off of Tampa Bay reliever Austin Pruitt. Derek Jeter, who was he? Starting his fourth season as Derek Jeter’s successor, DIDI GREGORIUS, had a spectacular home opener. GREGORIUS went 4 for 4, with two three-run home runs, driving in 8 runs, setting a major league record for RBIs by a player in a home opener AND setting a Yankee record for RBIs by a shortstop. On the opposite side of the ledger, recently acquired slugger, GIANCARLO STANTON, struck out 5 times his first five-times strike out game of his career. Dispite his dismal start, the Yankees defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 11-4 in their home opener.
Joanie and I are now off to Boston for their home opener against the same Tampa Bay Rays.
Attached are four images that I sent on to SI, AP, and Zuma Press. Look for us in the front row on Thursday night.
I am now headed for the New York Yankees home opener on April 2.
