  • Washington Nationals third baseman ANTHONY RENDON, singles in the first inning off of Houston Astros starting pitcher, Zack Greinke. The Houston Astros went on to win 4-1.

Tonight I was privileged to attend and photograph an historic event. The first World Series game in Washington D.C. in 86 years.

The first captures the very first pitch of this historic game by Nationals starting pitcher, ANIBAL SANCHEZ.

The second image is a very nice shot of Houston’s starting pitcher, ZACK GREINKE, striking out Nationals young super star, JUAN SOTO.

The Third image captures Houston’s hitting star of the game, JOSE ALTUVE, who hit 2 doubles and scored twice.

The fourth image is of SCREECH, Washington Nationals mascot, cheering on the excited crowd.

The final image is Houston’s closer, ROBERTO OSUNA, striking out JUAN SOTO to end the game.

  • Washington Nationals third baseman, Anthony Rendon, hit a 2run double to center field in the third inning.  Rendon is batting .237 in 2016.

In a game that was billed as a classic pitching duel between two of the National League’s finest pitchers, Matt Harvey of the Mets, and Stephen Strasburg of the Nationals turned into a route, with the Washington Nationals defeating the New York Mets 9-1.  Stephen Strasburg gave one of his BEST performances of the year while Matt Harvey turned in his WORST.
Strasburg pitched for 6 inning, allowing only 6 hits and 1 run, while striking out 10.  Matt Harvey, on the other hand, pitched for only 2 2/3 innings, allowing 9 runs(7 of them earned)  on 8 hits, striking out 1.
Stephen Strasburg is now 7-0 and has won 13 CONSECUTIVE STARTS over the last 2 years, a National League record.
To add insult to injury, former New York Mets second baseman Daniel Murphy, who was traded to the Nationals prior to this year, and who is now batting close to 400, hit a 2run home run in the first inning off of Harvey, and a double in the fourth inning.
