Boston Red Sox starting pitcher, RICK PORCELLO, throws a strike to New York Yankees Aaron Hicks in the fifth inning at Yankee Stadium. PORCELLO held the Yankees to only 1 run and 4 hits for his first post season win. The Red Sox defeated the Yankees 4-3 to win the AL Division Series.

Stars of the game were Red Sox starting pitcher, RICK PORCELLO, who held the Yankees to only 4 hits and one run over five innings for his first postseason victory; CHRIS SALE, who in a rare relief appearance, pitched a perfect 1-2-3 eighth inning to protect a 4-1 lead; and
Boston Red Sox catcher, CHRISTIAN VASQUEZ, who hit the winning home run in the fourth inning to give the Red Sox a 4-0 lead.

The Red Sox will now face last year’s World Series Champions, the Houston Astros, in the AL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES.
Boston Red Sox starting pitcher, RICK PORCELLO, strikes out Aaron Hicks in the 7th inning. PORCELLO threw a no-hitter for 6 innings and allowed only 2 hits, no walks, 6 strike outs and no runs for7 innings, leading the Red Sox to a 6-3 victory and his third straight win in 2018.

Boston’s starting pitcher, RICK PORCELLO, threw a gem of a game, pitching a no-hitter for 6 innings, and allowing only 2 hits, no runs, no walks, while striking out 6 for seven innings.
Boston had a scare in the first inning when HANLEY RAMIREZ was hit on the wrist by a pitch thrown by the Yankee’s starting pitcher Sonny Gray and RAMIREZ had to leave the game. Fortunately, XRAYS subsequently showed that RAMIREZ suffered a contusion but no broken bones.
The Red Sox went on to win 6-3, taking the first 2 out 3 games in the series.
