These 10 selected images from the Philadelphia Phillies home opener won by the Washington Nationals 7-6. The Nationals jumped off to an early 7-0 lead on the strength of strong pitching by Max Scherzer, last year’s National League Cy Young winner and power hitting by Bryce Harper, Daniel Murphy, and Jason Werth, each of whom hit home runs. Uploaded here are 5 selected images from today’s Marlins/ Phillies game, won by the Marlins 6-3. The game featured the much-anticipated Phillies debut of JAKE ARRIETA. While ARRIETA had a shaky start, giving upthree runs in the first inning, he settled down and held the Marlins scoreless for the next three innings. ARRIETA left the game after pitching 4 innings and allowing 3 runs on 3 hits with 5 strikeouts. ARRIETA has now allowed 3 or fewer runs in 15 consecutive starts, which ranks his ERA third in the majors, trailing only Washington’s Stephan Strasburg and Cleveland’s Corey Kluber. ARRIETA was not the pitcher of record.
