Chicago Cubs starting pitcher, JOHN LESTER, wipes his face in disgust in the second inning against the New York Mets. LESTER gave up eight runs and nine hits in 1 1/3 innings, the shortest of his 301 career starts over 11 major league seasons. He entered the game with a 2.03 ERA that ranked second in the majors and was the The Pitcher Of the Month in June. The Mets went on to win 14-3, sweeping the Cubs in the 4 game series, the first time during the regular season since 1985.

It just goes to show you that in baseball you just never know what will happen.
These two events, coupled with strong pitching performance of Dodgers’ starting pitcher, Kenta Maeda, spelled victory for the Dodgers.
