Supported with 5 home runs, de GROM allowed only two earned runs while striking out 12 over 6 2/3 innings while SEVERINO lasted only 4 innings, allowing 7 hits and 4 runs. Over his last 7 outings, SEVERINO has pitched poorly and may be a problem of the Yankees as they try to keep pace with the Red Sox. For the Mets, given their disastrous season, there is only one prize left in play— the NL CY YOUNG AWARD for their ace, JACOB de GROM.
