  • THE THRILL OF SCORING THE GAME’S FIRST TOUCHDOWN – Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver, JORDAN MATTHEWS celebrates scoring the game’s first touchdown in the first quarter of the NFC DIVISIONAL GAME against the New Orleans Saints. Despite taking an early 14-0 lead in the game, the Eagles faltered in the second half and lost 20-14.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, NICK FOLES, reaches for a touchdown against the New Orleans Saints in the first quarter of the NFC DIVISIONAL GAME giving the Eagles an early 14-0 lead. FOLES completed 18 of 31 passes for 201 yards, but lost the game 20-14 on a late interception because of a deflected pass off the fingertips of ALSHON JEFFERY with less than 2 minutes in the game.

Check out these 5 selected images from today’s NFC DIVISIONAL GAME won by the New Orleans Saints 20-14 over the Philadelphia Eagles.

It was a heartbreaking loss for the Eagles, who looked like they were going to make a last minute comeback, driving down to the Saints 27 yard line with approximately two minutes to play and trailing the Saints by only 6 points(20-14). At this point, disaster struck the Eagles as a Nick Foles pass to wide receiver, ALSHON JEFFREY, was deflected off of his fingertips and intercepted by the Saints cornerback, MARSHON LATTIMORE, thus ending the Eagles threat. ALSHON and the Eagles suffered the proverbial Agony of Defeat. (ironically, as the Chicago Bears did last week against the Eagles on a deflected field goal attempt)

The other highlights of the game that I sent you were: Eagles wide receiver JORDAN MATTHEWS celebrating the first touchdown of the game and NICK FOLES leaping and scoring the second touchdown of the game.

There is great joy in the Big Easy tonight.
